Somewhere between the current two extremes of ‘never use essential oils internally’ and ‘you can take just about any essential oil internally’ is a balanced approach and view of the use of essential oils internally, both professionally and for self-care. The misinformation on this subject is rampant on both sides of the extreme.

As someone who has been taking care of my own health for over 30 years, I am one of those people who believe we have a right to be educated on such important topics as the internal use of essential oils. It is very common in France to take essential oils internally, essential oils are being used in dietary supplements both here and in Europe, and there is an increase in internal use of essential oils around the world. My goal is provide empowering education on the internal use of essential oils so it may be done safely and effectively.

I believe it is important to distinguish between ‘promoting internal use’ and ‘educating on internal use’. Our goal is the provide valuable and necessary education for individuals who are utilizing essential oils in a wide range of applications and who need education and guidance.

This class is not a clinical aromatherapy class on how to treat such things as cancer or lupus or other complex health conditions. This course does not cover specific essential oils.

Meet Jade:

 

Jade Shutes is an aromatherapist, herbalist, author, researcher, gardener, and aromatic distiller.
She holds a Diploma in Holistic Aromatherapy, Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, and Reflexology from the Raworth College of Natural Medicine in Dorking, UK, and a Diploma in Aromatherapy from the International Therapist Examining Board (ITEC). She also holds a certificate in herbal medicine.
An aromatherapy practitioner, researcher, and educator for over three decades, Jade is passionate about aromatics and believes the sense of smell is one of the most powerful senses for healing the mind/body/psyche in this era of upheaval and change. She is considered a thought leader in the aromatherapy community and is highly respected for her balanced, progressive, and inspiring education.
Jade is the founder and visionary of the School for Aromatic Studies. She is the past president for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (2000-2003 and 2013-2015), author of “Aromatherapy for Bodyworkers”, co-author of “The Carrier Oil Palette”, and the main author of the “Ultimate Guide to Aromatherapy.
