I am often asked what my favorite aromatherapy books are, so here goes a small list of my all time favorite books either about aromatherapy or related in some way. (please note: these are not listed in any particular order)
Just about any book by Kurt Schnaubelt. My favorites of his include:
- Aromatherapy Lifestyle (part of his masters series)
- The Healing Intelligence of Essential Oils
- Advanced Aromatherapy (for a beginning understanding of chemistry, becoming familiar with terms, concepts)
Monika Haas: Quick Reference Guide for 114 Important Essential Oils
You can find Kurts and Monikas books at: http://www.pacificinstituteofaromatherapy.com/
Constance Classen: Worlds of Sense (is difficult to find, but well worth it for those interested in ‘exploring the senses in history and across cultures’)
E. Joy Bowles: The Chemistry of Aromatherapeutic Oils
Gabriel Mojay: Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit
Robbi Zeck: The Blossoming Heart
Piet Vroon: Smell – The secret seducer
Valerie Worwood: The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy. (although quite an older book, Valerie offers some wonderful ideas for blending and recipes)
Jade Shutes and Christina Weaver: Aromatherapy for Bodyworkers
Valerie Cooksley: Aromatherapy: Soothing Remedies to Restore, Rejuvenate and Heal
