Off The Market Living
Off The Market Living has been a dream of mine for several years after becoming disenchanted with the modern medical narrative. After working 21 years as a Cardiac Nurse I realized that I wasn't truly helping patients learn about their bodies, their health, and their responsibilities to both. Concurrent with this realization was the growing passion for making my own products. I enjoy teaching individuals how to grow their own food and medicine, utilize herbs in their health routine, make their own personal and household products, and take back control of their lives. Now I am fortunate to add essential oils into my arsenal to help bring my clients closer to a symbiosis with nature and their health. It is my passion and I am dedicated to provide positive support and education to those who are seeking to empower themselves by going "Off The Market".
If I am not in my Apothecary / Office learning something new about herbs, oils, and health I can be found in the garden enjoying the miracle of life. I am a student of everything and learning is something I do everyday. I am a mother of two beautiful young woman and my life is a full one. Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. Namaste.
I have always been concerned about the chemicals in many of the products in the stores, and I try my best not to take prescribed or over-the-counter medications. In fact, I am not on any medications. Therefore I started reading about essential oils and the benefits they offer and decided to enroll with The School for Aromatic Studies. I am now beginning my journey in aromatherapy.
I am a Registered Nurse and work in a small town Emergency Department in Spearfish, South Dakota. My interest in aromatherapy stems from looking for other ways to treat “the aches and pains of life” by using complementary therapies.
I believe that modern medicine excels in many needed cares, treatments and life saving interventions, but seriously fails patients in many ways. This was the beginning of my way to offer myself, friends, co-workers, and family effective complementary methods to wellness.
My days off are spent with my wife, dogs, and horses outdoors as much as possible.
New York Institute of Aromatherapy
Amy Galper, B.A., M.A., Dipl. AT, the pioneering educator behind NYIOA, has been a Certified Aromatherapist for over 16 years, as well as a passionate advocate, entrepreneur, formulator and consultant in organic beauty and wellness.
It’s a journey that began long before the pursuit of wellness was common, and led her to a vast knowledge of essential oils and their applications as a way to connect to the body through the senses. In 2001, after having trained with Jade Shutes (former president of the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy, or NAHA), Amy earned her Certificate in Holistic Dynamic Aromatherapy from what is now The School For Aromatic Studies. Today she is also the NYC Director for NAHA.
Over the past several years, Amy has also built a vibrant consultancy practice, offering her expertise—in ingredient research and sourcing, product formulation, wellness event planning, USDA Certification and more—to a number of beauty and wellness brands.
Along with her training in aromatic plant medicine, Amy has a certification from the Ohashiatsu Institute, a B.A from Smith College and an M.A. from NYU—as well as a love of going off the grid with only her husband and a lot of relaxing essential oils.
My name is Kendra and I'm 33 years old. I just recently became a Stay -at- Home mom, previously a Veterinarian Technician. My son (Gavin) will be 8 in March and my daughter (Stella) just turned 9 months! I was born in California but have lived in Michigan my whole life. I have 4 pets; a dog (Bella), a cat (Luna), and 2 ferrets (Pixie and George). Clearly, I have a serious passion for animals. I love gardening and reading/ learning about new herbs, vegetables, and fruits. I love staying active; bike riding, rollerblading, baseball (with Gavin), horseback riding, trail walks... anything that gets me outdoors!
I have always enjoyed aromatherapy and have been lucky enough to focus strictly on studying as much as I can about it. I'm the type of person that once intrigued, I want to know everything! Being able to become a stay-at-home mom was life changing for me and I can't thank my significant other (Kevin) enough for all the love and support he's given me through this new journey!
Deltona Lakes Aromatherapy
Personally crafted Essential Oil blends based on the needs of the individual, aromatherapy consultations, salves, soaps, sprays, and more.
I have had a fascination with essential oils for as long as I can remember. My first class was an introductory class on how to blend oils into a salve about 10 years ago. From that time on, my longing to know more about these wonderful gifts from nature has increased dramatically and I grabbed all of the information, right or wrong, that I could. Since becoming a licensed massage therapist 7 years ago in NY (and now in FL), I realized that I had better learn how to use these properly so I would "do no harm"especially because I wanted to incorporate essential oils into my massage practice.
My interest has expanded beyond using them in massage oils to making products. I look forward into embarking on this next journey. I do have a Facebook page for my business and my website is a work in progress, hopefully to be launched later this year. In addition to aromatherapy and massage, I enjoy spending time with my family, caring for my elderly parents, reading, re-purposing items, and watching the crazy antics of her cats and dog.
