Supplies needed:

  1. Slightly ground coffee beans (Organic, if possible)
  2. Canning jar (size dependent on how much you want to make) OR
  3. Double boiler (if you need your coffee infused oil quicker than a cold infusion)

How to make: Cold Infusion

  1. Fill jar 1/4 full of slightly ground coffee beans (like for a drip coffee machine)
  2. Cover beans with Sesame or Jojoba oil.
  3. Label infusion with ingredients and date. Allow to infuse for  2- 4 weeks.
  4. Strain through cheesecloth or wire mesh strainer. (Cheesecloth comes in handy for removing any of the smaller bits of coffee).
  5. Pour infusion into a clean jar and label.
  6. It is now ready to use to make: Coffee infused Lip Balm, Coffee Whipped Butter, or our most loved, Cardamom Coffee scrub.

How to make: Warm Infusion

  1. Complete steps 1 and 2 above.
  2. Pour the jar of oil and coffee beans into a pot for the double boiler.
  3. Turn heat on medium to low.
  4. Allow oil to infuse for up to 5-7 hours. (Great thing to do on a cold autumn or winter day!)
  5. Strain through cheesecloth or wire mesh strainer. (Cheesecloth comes in handy for removing any of the smaller bits of coffee).
  6. Pour infusion into a clean jar and label.
  7. It is now ready to use.
