Daily skin care is hardly a topic of discussion amongst males. I wonder what percentage of guys are even conscious of what they do to their skin on a daily basis. You may already be in somewhat of a routine. If you shave regularly you are actually exfoliating (that’s a fancy word for helping your skin remove dead skin cells). If you grow a beard you are protecting the skin underneath from UV rays and, hopefully, feeding that beard with all natural beard oil.
Clean shaven or bearded, remember around your eyes and your forehead could use a few seconds of care on the regular. You don’t have to, but you’ll be thankful you do. Every time you walk into work, a job interview, first date, or social gathering you’ll want to put your best face forward.
The appearance of your skin says a lot about what is going on with you physically and emotionally.
Monitoring the balance of your skin may guide you to healthier choices, such as getting more sleep, exercise, changing diet or decreasing (possibly increasing) your alcohol intake.
5 Rules for your skin, to age with dignity
Rule #1 – Always use 100% natural products. Your body systems are already familiar with the organic molecules in plant based products and know how to utilize them for maximum results.
Rule #2 – Stop washing your face with soap! Use very warm water. If you have oily skin and feel you need soap, find an all-natural gentle cleanser. Apple cider vinegar, cut with water, is another option.
Rule #3 – Exfoliate 2 – 3 times a week. 3oz of fine sugar or baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) with 1oz of honey or oil is a simple base. You can mix a big batch with an essential oil blend in a mason jar.
Rule #4 – Hydrate. After you’ve cleared all the gunk off and opened your pores with warm water, use an oil or cream. If you shave this can double as an aftershave. This takes about ten seconds to apply plus you’ll reap the olfactory/emotional benefits of your essential oil blend.
Rule #5 – Remember to drink LOTS of water.
