Warming Chest Salve

Warming Chest Salve

Recipe makes: 5 – 25ml jars and 1 – 50ml jars.

  • 1/2 ounce of beeswax
  • 1/2 cup of jojoba oil
  • 1 tsp. honey

Place the ingredients into the top of a double boiler. Gently heat until all the beeswax has melted. Stir well with a fork or spoon. I put the honey in as it imparts a beautiful honey aroma to the salve but the honey itself will not merge into the salve mixture. Honey is water soluble. I leave it as the bottom of the pan while carefully pouring out the salve mixture.

While the beeswax is melting with the oil and honey, prepare your jars.

I first made a synergy of the following oils:

  • 2.5mls Ginger
  • 1ml Cardamom
  • 10 drops Black pepper
  • 5 drops Clove bud
  • 10 drops Palmarosa

In each 25ml jar I put 20-25 drops of the synergy and for each 50ml jar 40-50 drops of the synergy.

After placing the essential oils in the jars, the salve was ready to pour. I filled each jar and placed the cap on each jar as it was done. Once I had poured all the jars, then I went back to secure the lids and shake each jar.

Let the salve harden in each jar. While this is happening its time to make labels.
