Diana Dragomir

Aromatic Studies: Romania

Diana is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and aromatherapist. She serves as the Vice-President of the Romanian Professional Association of Aromatherapy and is a professor at Hyperion University – Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences in Bucharest, where she teaches the courses PsychoAromatherapy and AromaPsychology. She is also a professional member of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists.

Diana has always been fascinated by the complexity and depth of the human mind, by that elusive “something” that underlies human behavior and interactions, and, equally, by aromas—the so-called “essence of plant essences”—particularly their impact on the human psyche. This subject completely captivated her, fueling a deep desire to study and research this emerging and unique field of aroma – psychology. Her passion led her to expand her education, participating in specialized training programs in AromaPsychology, PsychoAromatherapy, and Aromatherapy.

She became one of the founders of the Romanian Professional Association of Aromatherapy and launched two university courses at Hyperion University: AromaPsychology for the Bachelor’s program and PsychoAromatherapy for the Master’s program. She is currently pursuing Ph.D. research exploring the intersection of psychology and aromas.

On her journey into the world of scents and the mind, Diana had the great privilege of meeting Jade Shutes. She became certified through the School for Aromatic Studies, and with Jade’s support, she founded The Aromatic Studies Academy—the first internationally certified aromatherapy school in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
